 STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT
 
Childhood Energetics is a child development model that describes the unique energetic type of each child as well as the energetic stage of development in which they are engaged.  Below you will find both a description of your child's energetic stage of development and energetic style of learning.

Stage 1

0 - 15 mos.

Earth

Red/Brown

Food, Comfort, Trust, Expression of Basic Needs/Wants

Nursing, Rocking, Swaddling, Sitting up, Crawling, Standing, Peeing/Pooping, Illness/Immunity


Stage 2

15 mos – 3 yrs.

Water

Blue/Aqua

Bringing Things to Self, Letting Go, Self as Separate, Boundaries, Expressions of Love, Grief & Fear

Fluid Movement (running, spinning, turning), Language Development (the flow of words), Picking up/Throwing Away, Loving Pets/Cuddlies, Self as Separate through “no, no, no”


Stage 3

4 – 10 yrs.

Fire

Orange/Yellow

Independence, Peer Interaction, Creative Outlets, Expression of Anger/Early Sexuality


Dancing, Pounding, Shooting, Creating/Destroying, Role Playing, Creative Play, Music, Peer Pressure, Collaborate/Compete

Stage 4

11 – 15 yrs.

Air

Green/Gray

Maturing of Emotions, Speaking Out/Self Expression, Expression of Intense Emotions (love, hate, fear, envy, hope, hopelessness)


Moving Out into the World, Coming Back to Family for Support & Boundaries, Breathing in Life Force and FEELING, Need to Be Heard & Taken Seriously

Stage 5

16 – 21 yrs.

Ether/Ethereal

Indigo/Purple

Intelligent Stimulation, Conscience, Mind & Spirit Development, Finding a Place in the World

Scholastic Pursuit (secondary education), Community Involvement (sports, school, religion), Refining of Previous Stages, Connection to Spirit (drugs/alcohol, “in the zone,” altered states)

LEARNING STYLE ATTRIBUTES

Earth------ learn best through doing------ "hands on learners"

Water------ learn by feeling----- "feeling their way"

Fire------ learn by creating----- the "creators"

Air------ learn through emotion----- emoting and expressing

Ether------ learn through analysis----- connecting all the dots
